Prior to the official launch on Universiade 2017 in Almaty the Main press center located in “Sunkar” International Ski Jumping Complex was presented to the journalists. The Main Press Center (MPC) started working on 25th of January 2017, and during the days of competitions it will be functioning 24/7. For mass media representatives accredited to cover Universiade 2017 there is a range of services provided at the MPC including 50 working places, Internet access, live broadcasting of competitions from all sport venues according to international broadcasting schedule, and a conference hall equipped with simultaneous translation service.
In the Main Press Center media are enabled to access information they need for their work and to attend the press conferences with athletes, coaches and other official delegates. The schedule of press conferences will be formed in a real-time mode based on the events schedule.
Press centers will be also functioning at all other sport venues of Universiade 2017. Sub press centers are equipped with working places, office equipment, Internet access and conference halls. Press centers at sport venues will be opened each day, 2 hours before the official start of competitions. Media representatives will also be admitted to the mixed zones for making short interviews with the athletes.
In the days of competitions special bus shuttles will be provided for media for moving between the press centers. There will be 4 routes in total departing from the Main Press Center: to Medeu and Shymbulak, to Baluan Sholak’s Sports Palace and Almaty Arena, to Halyk Arena and Tabagan, and a separate route will be provided to “Alatau” Cross‐Country Skiing and Biathlon Stadium. The schedule of bus shuttles will be uploaded to the official web site of Universiade 2017 where the Media Guidemay be already found.
